The Pet Bat -v1b
(Despite the avie in the Video, This is a product for Men AND Women!)

Every have the overwhelming desire to have a tiny, flying, disease ridden, mammal hover inches from your head? Well I don't, but I'm not you! So maybe you'll appreciate the Pet Bat. This hover rodent will loyally stay by your side no matter what happens in the chat room, and comes with a host of commands should you wish to show your "pet" off. Assuming you want to show it off. Personally, I'd call an exterminator. (KEEP IT AWAY FROM MY HAIR!!!!)

Commands:
"BatBarrelRoll" - Think "Star Fox", only with less spaceships
"BatWave" - Bat says Hi!
"Dive" - Sends the bat into a daring loop-dee-loop
"LoopAround" - Causes the bat to orbit the avie's head
"No" - Shakes bat's head
"Yes" - Nods
"HideBat" - Hides the Bat away
"ShowBat" - Shows the Bat again, if hidden

PLEASE NOTE: The Bat attaches to the "Root" Node of the avie's skeleton. There's a limit to the number of things you can attach to any Node, so it might conflict with other items which attach to the other root node, like Pets. If you add too many items to your "Root" node, the bat might vanish, or cause one of your other items to disappear. As always, to ensure your full satisfaction with this product, please use TRY IT before you BUY IT! There will be NO REFUNDS if it doesn't fit your needs.

Like your bats Black instead of Brown? Want it to orbit instead of hover? And how about some SOUND EFFECTS?! Well then, get to work and DERIVE it! Make your own version, and even sell it the catalog for a small markup over my original, and keep the extra profits for yourself! You can express yourself AND earn credits at the same time. How's that for a sweet deal? You'll need a full account on IMVU, as well as a copy of Previewer. You can find out more about Deriving on the IMVU's Education Center. Here are the templates you'll need below:

This is the Texture map for the Bat's Body, as well as the thick parts of the Wings. Use this image if you want to make simple changes to the appearance of the Bat, like Color or adding decals (or Blood!). This texture map is only for half of the model, and is mirrored on the other half. As such, anything done to one side of the model is mirrored on the other. So keep in mind that anything you do will automatically become symmetrical. For instances, words or letters will appear backwards on one side:

This is the Wireframe for the Bat's Body. This shows you exactly how the Texture map attaches to the model:

This is the Opacity layer for the Bat Wing Edges. An Opacity layer is a black and white silhouette copy of the Texture map used to define what parts of the Texture map appear and don't appear. The White parts are solid, and the Black are invisible. Any Gray sections are semi-transparent, like glass. If you wish to reshape the wing edges, you'll need to make an Opacity image that outlines your new Texture map, with the parts you want to see White and the parts you don't in Black. By using Gray and "Composite" blending you can make the Wings glass-like, but I'd avoid that if I were you. IMVU isn't very good about handling multiple transparent effects, so if the wings visually pass in front of each other or some other transparent object, parts one of them might disappear. So it's best to use solid Black and White:

To add sound, I highly recommend you download and use Audacity. It's a free sound editing tool that can export out OGG sound files. OGG sound files compress down to less then 1/10th the file size of WAV files. SO USE OGG FILES!!! You can download it here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Please DON'T MAKE YOUR SOUND AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE!!! Loud sounds will annoy other users, and reduce your sales. Also avoid using Looping sounds, as IMVU has no controls to stop Looping sounds once they start playing.

Also please keep in mind that Deriving is not the same as using extraction tools and resubmitting. When you use tools to extract and resubmit my items without using IMVU's Deriving function, you remove me from earning anything off the sale of my items. So you're effectively STEALING from me. Not only will this get your account revoked, your credits ceases, your PayPal account shutdown, and get you into all kinds of legal troubles... it's also just plain wrong. Please don't steal from me. Please use the "Derive from Product" link and keep your account honest. You profit, I profit, and your honesty insures I'll be making many more wonderful things for you to derive from for many years to come.
