Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket This is a Japanese Hitatare Kamishimo from Feudal Japan. The usual wear was the hakama and the kosode robe and many times a vest called a Kataginu. When a Samurai or Bushi warrior wanted to dress up more appropriately, be it for a feast, formal affair or attending an audience with the Emperor, they would wear the Hitatare. Generals on the battlefield would always wear this when talking about plans and attacking. They needed to look their best and encourage all around them! Try before you buy
