November's main kanzashi motif is trailing autumnal leaves, to represent the fall. These may be a generic yellow leaf or the characteristic red maple leaf. Because maple viewing is the autumnal equivalent in Japan of cherry blossom viewing, these kanzashi are always very popular. Ginkgo and liquidambar leaves are sometimes also used as kanzashi motifs during this month.
