Big Canyon River Raft Ride

A very long animated ride in a raft on a winding river through a very big canyon. The loop is over 30 minutes long before repeating! (see speed trigger words below)  It resembles one of the canyons you might see in Arizona or the American southwest. Lots to see including a bald eagle and a couple of ravens soaring overhead. You never know whats around the next bend. There are several cool places to get out or make a camp or Native American teepee village.

If you would feel safer while wearing a life jacket or PFD, I have a Male Life Jacket and Female Life Jacket available for your safety.

There are over 730 furniture nodes to customize this room the way you like. I only put in a few standing spots to get you close to them. You can add standing nodes, poses, trees, cactus, camp stuff, teepee's and more as you like. Most of the nodes are at the sites pictured below. There are a few along the river bank and a few on the desert floor above.

In the raft there are two furniture nodes so that you can bring along drinks, cooler, lunch or first aid kit etc. Anything on these nodes will twist and turn with the raft as it floats along but will sit still inside. There are also two behind the raft. Anything on these nodes will tag along behind but will track in a straight line along the river. These are good if you want a friend to follow in a kayak or canoe etc. or anything else that you want to float with you.

This is a VERY LARGE room with lots of animation through canyon that seems to go on forever. See notes below for best performance on your computer.

I suggest that you do not shut off the water!  It wouldn't be much of a river ride without water.
(By the way, I can't resist putting something I think is funny in every mesh I make!)

Adventure continues
The river raft ride adventure continues, seemingly forever but eventually repeats itself up ahead where we started.
At the normal frame rate it should go for at least 30 minutes before repeating.
I think that I mentioned that this place is HUGE!



Trigger Words

trigger /
triggers		 Pauses raft for 30 seconds and displays a list of trigger words.
Type trigger word at any time or wait 30 seconds to resume.
   
driftspeed Very slow speed as if drifting, 30 minute loop. This is also the default speed.
floatspeed Slow speed just floating along, 15 minute loop.
rapidspeed Fast speed, sometimes feels like you are shooting the rapids, 7 minute loop.
warpspeed Very fast speed, hang on! 3.5 minute loop.
pause Pauses at start of ride for one minute, then resumes.
Great way to adjust furniture in or behind raft without it moving.
   
gotoarch Takes raft and it's furniture to the location with Arch Rock,
pauses for one minute so you can get in or out, then resumes.
gotomidway Takes raft and it's furniture to Midway Landing at the half-way point,
pauses for one minute so you can get in or out, then resumes.
gotowaterfall Takes raft and it's furniture to the location with the Waterfall,
pauses for one minute so you can get in or out, then resumes.
gotostart Takes raft and it's furniture to the start of the ride,
pauses for one minute so you can get in or out, then resumes.

Out of sync? If someone joined the room after you did or one took longer to load than the other you will seem to be in different areas
along the ride, typing a speed trigger will get you in sync.   You can type the trigger for the speed you are already riding at to do this.

Note: If two different clients (or computers) are running at different frame rates (speeds) you may get out of sync along the river path.




Performance and Your Video Settings

This is a very large room with several animations and many nodes to add lots of furniture! It's HUGE and may put high demands on your computer. On older computers or computers with poor video quality it may not work well or be laggy or have jerky animation. Please try it before you buy it, no refunds (sorry). I have tested this on several computers including notebooks that are not super fast and it works well. It should work fine for most people. It will take longer than most rooms to load if you have a slow internet connection, but it's worth the wait!

You should always make sure your settings in IMVU are correct to optimize your video and animation performance. If you feel comfortable doing this yourself, follow the instructions below. If you don't feel comfortable making changes, don't do it alone. Contact support or someone you know and trust to help you.

Adjust Your Settings:  In the client on the main screen, click Settings.  Under the Settings tab click Advanced.

Video Settings

On the line with the options for The 3D renderer used to draw 3D windows, remember it or write down what the setting is now in case you need to change it back later. Use the pull down menu to try different settings. This should be matched with the video driver your computer has. If you don't know what yours is, just try them one at a time until you get it right. You can do this while the Canyon Ride is running, the changes should take effect immediately so try one, go look at the animations, try again if needed until you find the one that works best on your computer.

If nothing works or you don't feel comfortable making changes, make sure you have it set back to what the original setting was. This is a great room to invite friends to or just take a relaxing ride by yourself. When the room first loads, the first six people in the room should automatically be seated in the raft. When those seats are full additional people will land on other places.
