And finally, the vagabonds came to see what only few other explorers had ever seen: a techno temple of the cybermagi. Most species believed they were nothing than a legend, and the vagabonds had heard many of them. The cybermagi; shamans with the inborn talent of technokinesis; the gift to become machines when they ascended. It was said in many legends that one of a million children was born as a natural cyborg; unable to survive without implants, but with powers beyond human imagination. The children were left to the machines, right after birth, and they would become symbionts of their techno temples; the more cybernetic gifts the machine gods implanted them, the mighter they grew. And after many centuries, when they had completely transformed into machines, they would ascent and become one with the steel blue machine goddess, and their power would be godlike as well.
The techno temple the vagabonds found on their odyssee was long abandoned, but the machines were still active. Cables grew out of the planet's surface like veins, pulsating, gleaming in the strange halflight of Anazasi. Illuminated ideas of young multiverses surrounded strange glowing places, and the temple itself was filled with energy the explorers could feel, somewhere deep inside.
They were respectful, and they sacrificed a communication device to the machine god who had ascented from this temple before they continued the journey.
