This is a brand-new streaming Internet Radio Player that comes with unique features:

The radio comes with over 550 stations classified into 29 genres/categories: Pop / Top 40, Dance / Club, Trance / Techno, House / Electro, Hardstyle / EDM, Rock / Metal, Country / Americana, R&B / Hip-Hop / Rap, Jazz / Blues, Lounge, Chillout, Easy Listening, Reggae, ZOUK / Tropical, Latin, Oldies 90s, Oldies 80s, Oldies 70s, Oldies, Love Songs, Classical, Arabic, Turkish, Hindi / Bollywood, Asian, World / Folklore, Movie Soundtracks, Religious, News/Talk/Comedy.
- To bring up the Flash Player and start the radio streaming, stand on the DVD (It will spin one turn around.)
The radio will continue playing after you leave the stand. If you no longer need it, you can unload it by clicking the red (x) button to the right of the Controls Bar.
- By default, all avatars that are currently tuned to the radio will hear the same station. This allows for group listening where synchronisation between all users is wanted (for example in dance clubs.) However, there are times when you don't want other users to change the station you're listening to, and this is precisely what the Lock button does: It disconnects your radio from other users so you can listen to your favorite music without being interrupted. Of course, you can unlock the station anytime you wish to join back the group.
- You can hide the Radio Player by clicking the arrow on the right edge of the Controls Bar.
Please keep in mind this is live streaming from remote servers over which I have no control and which may be down for maintenance or other reasons. If you select a station and the Player cannot reach it, it will display a notification message and ask you to try again later. If the station is still unavailable after a few hours, please drop me a message so that I can update the stream's URL for the benefit of all users. Your suggestions and requests are most welcome as they will help to improve the quality of the product and add more features and stations.
The easiest way to derive this player is by replacing the banner with a picture of your choice which can include your avatar or club name. Another thing you may want to do is to add your custom list of radio stations. These can be any free MP3 streams that you can find on the web (SHOUTcast.com is an excellent source for finding these streams.) To add your radio stations, follow the steps below:
- Download this file channels.xml to your desktop (right-click and select Save Link/Target As...)
- Open it in any text editor (Windows Notepad is just fine) and edit the genres and stations information.
Notes:
- The url of the stream can be gathered from the playlists that you can download from SHOUTCAST
I cannot go through all the technical details here; if you don't know how to obtain the URL, ask a techie friend of yours or —if you really have to— drop me a line and i'll try to get it for you.
- By default, the Flash Widget will load your custom channels on top of the default channel list that comes with the Radio. If you'd rather override the default channel list with your own channels, you can tell the Flash Widget not to load the default channels by setting the override attribute in the channels.xml file to "true", "yes" or "1".
- When you're done adding your channels, open Create Mode to derive from this product.
