"Hikizuri" means that the kimono has a longer length than a usual one and is worn by geisha, maiko (apprentice geisha) and nihonbuyo dancers.
Formal black kimono like these have mon (family crests) on the sleeves, back and front of the kimono. In accordance with the outfit's high formality, a nagajuban with golden decorations and a golden obi are worn with the kimono.
This is the kimono of full-fledged geiko; her collar (eri) is now fully white, in contrast to the red-based collar of the maiko, and the kimono (hikizuri) has a much more sophisticated design than that of a maiko's.
