“El Combate” beach (playa El Combate), located in the municipality of Cabo Rojo in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. It is, in truth, a collage of several beach areas around Cabo Rojo, including “Isla de Ratones” (which neither has mice nor can it be seen from the shores of El Combate... but you can magically see it in the distance in this room). All in all, I tried to add as much local flavor as I could to evoke the feeling of being in the actual beach.
Playa El Combate v3 (Dawn/Sunset version). If you prefer a NOON version of this room, you can find it here. The NIGHT version can be found here.
There are 10 animated furniture nodes. Just pop on your favorite car, motorcyle, skateboard (or even couch, if you want!), and zoom arond the scene! Two move up and down the main streets in a circle, and the other 8 are triggered. The triggered animated nodes all start in the parking lot, then move around the map as shown in the image below:
The trigger words to make the animations start are “go1,” “go2,” “go3,” “go4,” “go5,” “go6,” “go7,” and “go8.” Also, there are many seats and furniture nodes in this scene, including a few inside the buildings, so that you can add full-room furniture if you like within the buildings.
Here are video examples of how to place cars in the animated furniture nodes:
History of "El Combate": In 1759 the locals fought with a neighboring town for the ownership of the salt flats, hence the name "El Combate" (literally "the combat" or "the skirmish"). You will find restaurants on the road and the beach area at the end of Rt. 3301. This beach is part of the Boquerón Forest Reserve. Go farther south to reach the salt flats and the Cabo Rojo Lighthouse. If you have never seen how sea salt is harvested, this is a good place to see how its done.
