Mrs. Winkle a descendant of Rip Van Winkle, in an attempt to distance herself from the family name dropped the Van, unfortunately the narcolepsy that plagued her fore bearers manifested quite often. To her further dismay this affliction often found her awakening in rumpled clothing so she set to work on a material that was meant to look that way all the time. Much to her surprise the fad took off and is still prevalent today.
