Medieval Storage/Supply Canisters

During the medieval ages there were little spices to be found unless you were of Nobility. Peasants could obtain the simple necessities such as wheat for flour, sugar and even pepper; however, salt was so precious that it was stored under lock and key in the Tower of London! These vessels contain such item as identified on the very old and worn pewter labels. The containers are aged yet very sturdy and still somewhat air tight. The lid handles are made of the same pewter as the labels. Thank you for stopping by!
